WEATHER & WIND
1: 0-13 knots
2: 13-18 knots
3: 18-28 knots
SEAMANSHIP / ANCHORING
Skill Level 1:

• Mainly handling of mooring buoys
• Good holding grounds/easy anchoring
• Protected anchorages with few hazards

Skill Level 2:

• Frequent anchoring
• Relatively protected anchorages
• Occasional Med moor and/or marina slips

Skill Level 3:

• Exclusively anchoring
• Some hazardous anchorages
• More difficult anchor holding ground
NAVIGATION SKILLS
Skill Level 1:

• Mostly line of sight navigation
• Basic knowledge of charts
• Plot position
• No tricky passages

Skill Level 2:

• Understand tides
• Chart navigation - frequent plotting
• Some open water sailing
• Understand weather forecasts

Skill Level 3:

• Handle large tidal variations
• Cope with strong currents
• Make a complete passage plan
