Who is 'The Coastie'?

John Keyes is a man with several hats!

He is presently a volunteer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and is currently qualified as a "Coxswain". This qualification, given only after successfully passing a rigid test, meets the same series of qualifications that the regular U.S. Coast Guard personnel have to.

John has been sailing all his life and was a regular Coast Guard in the '80's on ocean-crossing ships.

John spent 10 years as licensed Captain running sailing charters out of the West Coast of Florida. He then came to work for The Moorings, the charter company, where he is now the Yacht Owners Booking and Travel Agent, for the Moorings, Footloose and NauticBlue.
